Welcome to Lupos!
Lupos is a semi-realistic wolf RPG, meaning that the characters are realistic-looking and -acting, but the wolves have human speech and some human customs. The site is a play-by-post roleplay game. We prefer that you roleplay in third person and past tense. Lupos is rated 13+. Mature content (violence and sexual themes) is allowed in the mature forums, which are limited to players 18+ (see rules).

The plot of Lupos is extremely character- and player-driven, creating a sandbox-type feel where your choices matter and affect the overall site plot.

Saoirse Perbosi'
Chaos Heathen

Centered within the confines of the Stella domain sat the regal lupine in reticent tumult as her fiery gaze swept over the area with a daunting ire. An outer facade boasted only self righteous arrogance that concealed the inner understanding of mild affection toward any passerby too wary to attempt to disturb her proclaimed peace.

The heat of the setting sun warmed her rusty fur from her perch that she had claimed to bask on, appendages out stretched in a languid demonstration of laziness as muscles relaxed after hours of tension and the suspense of the day seemed to slip from her kaleidoscopic mind as night slowly drifted closer. A single eye was cast upon the growing shadow briefly as lips lifted in a daunting snarl towards the ever growing night, her time in the sun wearing ever thin.

Soon the begrudged effeminate would be traipsing alongside her comrades in a fruitless routine of patrol and protection combined with the daunting possibility of the bloodletting of an unsuspecting victim. Mouth watering, thirst growing ever more fervent for the liquid crimson that would soon venture into her jaws betwixt flesh and bone. A meal to feed that which she now called family, and in solitary mind, remained ever loyal.

The lazing female rolled from her belly to her back in a disorderly attempt to stretch as a yawn escaped her obsidian lips, still trapped in her mild reverie of food and excitement.

The healer grunted, stacking up the last of her reserves. Veritas' eyebrows furrowed, glaring into the ever-dwindling pile of herbs. While she was all well and good being cheerful and happy and oh-so-delightful, the absolute one thing she despised was not having enough herbs to heal the whole pack. Oh, fine. Let there be other healers, Ghost says. Let there be more mongrels clamouring to join Stella. While they need help hunting, Veritas most definitely does not require more ignorant wolves stomping around messing up stuff.

What did they think they were doing?

With the pack about to venture on yet another hunt, the femme had to remove some of her carefully stocked herbs from the small piles she kept. While annoyed by the general waste of good medicine, Veritas understood the necessity of treating all wounds when food was low. If they were not able to fix the wounds, they'd get infected since a lack of food meant a weak immune system. A weak immune system meant more chances to fall sick. Lo and behold, this obviously gave Veritas more work and wasted more herbs.

Why couldn't those damned creatures just leave and sally off somewhere else to bother some other packs? Surely once food was low they'd leave? Oh, no. Totally because they wanted to devour the wolves. When prey came back, those ungrateful brutes would take what was rightfully the packs'.

Okay, rant over. Veritas calmed herself and padded out to meet the Beta lounging on a rock. Her tail was down though she would have loved to raise it up and order Saoirse off her perch lest she get dehydrated and die of too much heat. More problems, a missing Beta and regrettably, fewer hunters to feed the pack. Still, that mean that she had fewer injuries to treat, too. Hooray.

Saoirse, Veritas acknowledged, eyes flicking first to the Beta's poor choice of rest spot, then back to Saoirse's own, flatly using them to state how displeased she was at Saoirse not doing anything about it. Did the idiot want to die from overheating? If you would kindly remove yourself from the rock, or, at least most of it, my herbs will appreciate your concern. Other than that, perhaps you would like to take us on a hunt? I want to replenish my herb supplies along the way.

Saoirse Perbosi'
Chaos Heathen

The flat voice of the begrudged healer of Stella entered her ears and Saoirse would inwardly groan as she closed her eyes tightly in a futile attempt to prevent the female's voice from reaching her. What a shame. A sigh escapes the russet lupine's lips as she obliges, one eye opening to gaze at the healer as she rises to her feet, soon providing her full attention as she regards the healer with a scrutinizing expression.

The effeminate directed her gaze elsewhere for the moment, remaining annoyingly silent as she scanned the area for her Alpha, who seemed to be nowhere in sight... for the third day in a row, it seemed. "Ghost gives the order." She says with a shrug, taking a step forward as if to remove herself from the outcropping, only to stop and gaze at the female once more, her expression as neutral as the voice she had used to speak. "Where is he anyway?"

The female waits patiently for the woman before her to give rise to her opinion on their wayward Alpha when a low grumble sounds from her belly. The sound calls for the sheepish expression for the Beta as she tries to ignore the sound, however, after another grumble, the female sighs loudly, taking her leave from the boulder as Veritas had asked and stopping next to her. "Alright, if you're so eager, I suppose we could get going?" Her second objective was to find out where her leader had disappeared to. Perhaps they could find a trail.

OOC: This thread was liquid-timed to before Elite left, so Ghost is still around. we can work around that, though.

Veritas nodded as the Beta obliged, sliding off her sunbathing rock. She was mildly pleased that she wouldn't have to treat one more for heatstroke, showing her approval by giving a curt nod of her head. Her green eyes flashed in the light, thinking through Saoirse's question. Where had Ghost gone? his presence within the pack was definitely scarcer, though he did still remain as Alpha. Perhaps he was wasting away to some disease or hunger-related thing she couldn't cure or he hadn't told her of.

Stupid wolves, being so confident they forgot they were mortal. The scarring on her neck taught her that no wolf was immortal. As a result of complacency, she had almost lost her voice. She couldn't speak for too long, or she'd risk aggravating the old wound.

Veritas shook her head, signifying that she didn't know where their Alpha was. If they were to hunt, she wanted to save her voice for later and in emergencies.Just in time, as if Saoirse's body agrees with her, a huge rumble resounds through the sweltering heat. Winking conspiratorially, the woman would slip into her den before pulling out some mint leaves. She chewed on a couple, passing the rest to Saoirse. She looked like she'd needed it anyway.

"Chew them, they'll take your mind off the hunger, possibly numb it for some time. Enough to hunt, at least." Veritas snorted and spat the leaves out into a carefully dug hole.before kicking earth over it. She motioned for the Beta to do the same, before trotting over to the exit of the "camp". She looked excited, for once. Perhaps they would finally find some food!
